July 2008 Newsletter

Death and dying seem to be everywhere in the news: Senator Bob Brown’s Inquiry into the Rights of the Terminally Ill Bill; Victoria’s PAD Bill; SA’s hope for a new bill: the Caren Jenning/ Shirley Justins trial; the Clem Jones bequest; even the Sydney Writer’s Festival seemed to be obsessed with death. Radio National’s Life Matters had two sessions called Looking at Death and talkback radio including Australia Talks, 2GB, 2SER, 702, AM, PM rippled with talk of voluntary euthanasia.
